Venue Address:
The Old Milking Parlour at Cavokay House, Marsh Lane, Henstridge, Somerset BA8 0TQ

The Postcode will only bring you to the locality, however Google Maps will bring you right to our gate.

What Three Words: Goofy. Type. Sand

Parking: We have plenty of on site hardstanding parking and a field for overflow parking - in the unlikely event it is needed.

If you are attending a full wedding and reception here, you may leave your car here overnight and collect it between 09:00 and 13:00hrs the following day.

Your car is parked here at your own risk. For security and your peace of mind, the main gates are locked overnight with absolutely no entry.

Accommodation: If you plan to stay locally and wish to see a list of local accommodation, please click here

Taxis: We strongly advise that you book your taxi well ahead of the wedding date. To see a list of local taxi companies, please click here

Arrival Timing: We suggest you aim to arrive here no more than 30-40mins prior to the ceremony time.

Footwear: The Old Milking Parlour is a rustic venue. You may prefer to wear, or bring with you, flat shoes. Especially if the ceremony is outside on the lawn or in our romantic woodland glade.

Confetti: Please only bring dried petal/leaf confetti. Please no paper confetti, foil confetti or confetti cannon, even if marked as bio-degradable (it takes about 8 months to biodegrade – ask us how we know). Please only use confetti outside.

Glass: Our venue is in a private country location and we have a beautiful south facing lawn where guests like to relax and children can walk and play barefoot. For this reason we respectfully ask guests not to take their wine glasses outside in case of broken glass and injury. We can provide you with a non-breakable goblet if needed.

Fireworks and Chinese lanterns: Because of our rural location and the risk to both farm animals and wildlife we don’t  permit these.

Accessibility: The Old Milking Parlour is all on ground level. There is an accessible lavatory with hand rails and call buzzer. There is a single step to the bar – we will be happy to assist with fetching drinks for you if needed. Please contact us if you have any concerns regarding accessibility. As an ex nurse, Lou, the owner, is able to offer a little extra insight here.

Smoking/Vaping: Ashtrays are provided on the walls outside and elsewhere. No smoking or vaping indoors.

Fire Safety: We ask that there are no naked flames, lanterns or candles anywhere on the site.

Bar last orders: 23:15hrs and bar closes: 23:30hrs

Carriages: 23:30hrs

Close and guests leave: Midnight

We hope this information is helpful to you. As both venue owners and ‘on the day’ co-ordinators we will be on hand throughout the day to ensure that everything runs smoothly. See you at the wedding!
